Controlled substances in research

Purpose:  

To provide the framework for the use of regulated prescription and federally controlled substances in research and create a program that ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations for the lawful purchase, possession, use, storage, protection, and destruction of controlled and non-controlled prescription drugs and medical gases associated with research conducted under FAU.

Requirements:

1.  All researchers that require the use of controlled and uncontrolled substances and medical gases in research must obtain a letter of exemption from the State of Florida (DBPR).

2.  All researchers that require the use of controlled substances in research must obtain a registration from the DEA.
