Mathematics with a double Minor in Data Science and Physics

Reece Humphreys is majoring in Mathematics and minoring in both Physics and Data Science at the Wilkes Honors College. During his freshman year, Reece started his own company as a Kenan Social Engagement Scholar. It developed from his work on a technology platform designed to help non-profit organizations to leverage their resources by sharing with other organizations and businesses. He continued working on this platform and was selected to participate in the FAU Wave competition, securing a position in the FAU Tech Runway Venture Class 6, a technology business incubator. He has since been invited by the Spirit of Giving Network to give a presentation to their members about utilizing technology to simplify collaborative work. Additionally, his most recent internship with a technology company, ZeroC, has allowed Reece to hone the skills required to work with complex codebases. While at the Honors College, he has also been very involved in campus life. He served as the Jupiter Student Government Speaker of the House and went on to represent FAU’s student body as the Vice-Chair of the Student Senate. He was a founding member of the Jupiter Dinning Hall committee and also served as an Orientation and Welcome Leader. Reece explains that being at the Wilkes Honors College has given him many unique opportunities, encompassing a broad range of his interests, from addressing social problems to pursuing leadership experience. After graduation, Reece’s goal is to apply this knowledge and skill to solving humanitarian and social issues via technology.
