Peak Library

Roberets

Extracts of marine organisms are typically made up of complex mixtures of natural products. To provide samples that are useful in high throughput screening, the Marine Biomedical & Biotechnology Research Program, with support from the National Institutes of Health, is developing a library of enriched and pure materials for screening. This peak library consists of fractions that are prepared through medium-pressure liquid chromatography using an ISCO Combiflash Companion. Just one example of the power of screening the peak libraries is the identification of a novel chemical entity with utility against the malaria parasite within one week of the first test of the material. This library of materials is available for screening through collaborative partnerships.
