To support and enhance environmental research and collaboration the school of Environmental, Coastal and Ocean Sustainability (ECOS) is pleased to announce the ECOS environmental research enhancement grants.
Walter & Lalita Janke Foundation Innovations in Sustainability Science Research Fund
Supports research proposals that will enhance existing energy technologies and support the early development of promising new energy concepts and applications. The funding is intended to enable proposing individual or multidisciplinary collaborations to engage in proof-of-concept designs, preliminary studies, infrastructure building, and/or other research activities that will set the foundation for follow-on competitive grant applications, and to generate high‐quality, publishable scientific papers.

ECOS Seed Grant
Deadline: Sept. 1, 2024
To support and enhance environmental research at FAU, the school of Environmental, Coastal and Ocean Sustainability (ECOS) is pleased to announce this request for proposals for a seed grant. This funding is intended to support meta-analyses, pilot studies, infrastructure building, and any other research capacity building activity that will facilitate the development of a more competitive grant application.

ECOS Faculty Travel Grant
Deadline: Oct. 1. 2024
As many as six faculty travel grants of up to $3,000 will be awarded to help offset expenses associated with travel to present research at scientific conferences or to attend workshops for specialized training. Preferences will be given to proposal applications demonstrating financial need, and those requesting partial funding.

ECOS Graduate Student Research Awards
Deadline: Sept. 1, 2024
Grants will be awarded to help offset expenses associated with travel for field work or workshops and conferences, specialized software or training, use of core facilities, or research supplies.

ECOS Publication Grants
As many as 10 grants of up to $3,000 will be awarded to help offset expenses associated with page charges, open access fees, and data archival services. Preferences will be given to proposal applications demonstrating financial need, those requesting partial funding, and those supporting open access fees.

ECOS Research Awards
Recognizes influential manuscripts published by ECOS affiliates on emerging environmental topics. This award aims to acknowledge exceptional contributions to the field and encourages impactful research within our community.
