Katie Daily

Katie Daily is an Instructor of English. She received her PhD from Boston College, MA from Columbia University Teachers College, and BA from Columbia University. At Florida Atlantic, Dr. Daily teaches College Writing and Interpretation of Literature. Prior to joining FAU, Dr. Daily was a Residential Dean and Lecturer of English at Harvard University. Dr. Daily was also the Inaugural Chair of Professional Studies for Purdue University Global and the Associate Dean for Policy and Communications and Assistant Professor of English at the United States Military Academy/West Point. 

Dr. Daily’s first book, Rejection and Disaffiliation in Twenty-First Century Immigration Narratives won the Northeast MLA Book Prize in 2017 and was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2019. Her current project, In Our Boots: American Female Veterans Writing the Global War on Terror examines the experiences of women in our modern American military. Her research resides at the intersection of American culture, policy, and literature. Dr. Daily has presented at conferences across the US, has been awarded teaching prizes by Harvard University (2021, 2022) and Boston College (2009 and 2012), and has been honored with both the United States Army Civilian Superior Civilian Service Award (2018) and the United States Army Civilian Medal for Meritorious Service (2020).
