Professor Soroko is a former National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship recipient for his work creating physical life using character masks and trained as an Alexander Teacher under the nationally renowned Jim Hancock. He is currently working toward his Alexander Teacher International certification under ATI founding member Cathy Madden. Professor Soroko is a proud member of the Actors Equity Association who earned his Master of Fine Arts degree from the Professional Actor Training Program at the University of Texas and his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and English at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He is a Certified Teacher of Stage Combat and a Theatrical Firearms Instructor with the Society of American Fight Directors. Soroko served on SAFD’s Governing Body for six years as Treasurer. He has taught Stage Combat, Alexander Technique, Movement, and Acting at the following Universities: Yale University, New York University, North Carolina School of the Arts, and the University of Miami. Soroko is an accomplished Director in the academic community who also provides professional movement coaching and Fight Choreography for theatre, opera companies, and universities across America. Here in South Florida, Professor Soroko has worked with the Maltz Jupiter Theatre (LORT B+), Florida Grand Opera (AGMA), Palm Beach Opera (AGMA), Palm Beach Dramaworks (LOA), Slow Burn Theatre (LORT C), Zoetic Stage (LOA), and Miami New Drama (LOA).
