The Field Application Process

The BSW Field application process begins with student being cleared by advising after they have completed all prerequisite coursework. Once students are cleared to enter field, they must complete the Student Field Information Form and send to Tod Marshall at tmarsha5@fau.edu. The student will receive a response informing that the Field Application in the IPT Database is now ready to be completed. The student will be provided with a login and password to access the application. Once the application has been completed, signed and submitted online, it will be reviewed for completion and approved. The student will then receive an email informing of the next step which will be to sign up for one of three field orientations provided each semester. After attendance at the orientation, students will be contacted to schedule an interview to discuss placement.

The MSW Field Application process begins in the middle of the spring semester of each year. MSW students enter field in the summer 3 or fall semester only. Students are required to complete the Student Field Information Form and send to Tod Marshall at tmarsha5@fau.edu. The student will receive a response informing that they can now complete the Field Application in the IPT Database. The student will be provided with a login and password to access the application. Once completed, signed and submitted online, the application will be reviewed for completion and approved by field faculty. The student will be required to view a Pre-Interview Orientation PowerPoint and complete four signature pages referenced in the PowerPoint. A field faculty will contact each applicant to schedule an interview to discuss placement.
