Addiction Certificate Requirements
A student may earn the Graduate Certificate in Addiction by completing:
- Be currently enrolled in the Master of Social Work degree at FAU as either an Advanced Standing or Specialist year student.
- Coursework as indicated (27 Credits):
- Clinical Social Work with Families (SOW 6611), 3 Credits, with a minimum grade of “B.”
- Advanced Practice with Elders (SOW 6646), 3 Credits, with a minimum grade of “B.”
- Advanced Practice with Adults (SOW 6348), 3 Credits, with a minimum grade of “B.”
- Psychopathology (SOW6125), 3 Credits, with a minimum grade of “B.”
- Integrative Field Seminar (SOW 6535/6536), 6 credits, with a minimum grade of “B.”
- CBT (SOW6128), 3 Credits, with a minimum grade of “B.”
- Behavioral and Process Addictions (SOW 6714) 3 credits, with a minimum grade of “B.”
- Interventions in Addiction (SOW 6712), 3 credits, with a minimum grade of “B.”
- One 600-hour, master-level field education internship (SOW 6535/6536) with a substance abuse or related agency approved by the School of Social Work;
