Graduate Certificate in Addiction
For MSW students seeking specialization in the field of addiction, the Graduate Certificate in Addiction is a great way to get a jumpstart toward earning your credential as a Certified Addictions Professional (CAP) or Certified Masters-Level Addictions Professional (MCAP). Essentially, after completing the certificate program, you will have met all of the educational requirements for the MCAP with the exception of the 16 hours of training needed in supervision. You will have an additional two years after graduation to complete those remaining training hours, which are offered right here at the Sandler School of Social Work twice a year, through our Field Instruction Supervisor Training.
Your certificate application and graduation application must be completed and delivered to your academic advisor. Please note that certificates cannot be issued after graduation. In addition, your certificate application must also be submitted at least four weeks before graduation to the certificate program faculty advisor listed below to ensure your transcript is updated. We look forward to receiving your application!
