Admission Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 credits of undergraduate course work.
- A grade of “B” or better in both an undergraduate research methods and a statistics course.
- A letter of application, explaining the potential student’s interest in the program and reasons for applying.
- An example of the student’s written work.
- A letter of recommendation from a professor. Alternatives to this requirement may be granted by the Graduate Coordinator. Please have letters of recommendation emailed directly to msccj@fau.edu.
International students are required to achieve a minimum score of 550 (CBT-213) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
Meeting minimal standards does not guarantee admission, as all requirements will be considered cumulatively.
Admission Process
The admissions process is fully described in the FAU Graduate Catalog, which is updated annually. The process begins with submitting a formal application to the university, arranging for transcripts from all institutions attended since high school to be sent to the Admissions Office, and completing the Student Immunization Form. Admission to the Master of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice is for Fall semester only.
