Welcome, Coach Herman!

Today, FAU Athletics made the exciting announcement that Tom Herman has been named Hagerty Family Head Football Coach.

Coach Herman is a proven leader with a history of coaching winning teams, most recently at the University of Texas (2017-2020) and the University of Houston (2015-2016). He led these teams to six bowl games in six years and is undefeated in the postseason. In addition to his head coaching success, he is known as a successful recruiter and offensive mastermind.

Prior to his time at Houston, Coach Herman helped develop record-setting offenses in his 10 seasons as an offensive coordinator, including three seasons at Ohio State, where he won the 2014 Broyles Award as the nation’s top assistant coach. He also helped the Buckeyes win the 2015 College Football Championship.

I have no doubt that Coach Herman will lead FAU Football into a new era of success, as we prepare to join the American Athletic Conference and continue our tradition of Winning in Paradise.
