Congratulations, Class of 2024!

Thursday, May 02, 2024

This week, Florida Atlantic will celebrate its largest graduating class in University history as 3,600 students receive degrees during seven commencement ceremonies on the Boca Raton campus. They will join an extensive alumni network that has grown to more than 207,000 Owls since 1965.

Members of the spring Class of 2024 range in age from 17 to 73 years old, including five FAU High School students who will receive their bachelor’s degrees one week before their high school graduation. About one-third of the graduates will become the first in their families to earn a college degree. Additionally, more than 600 graduates are veterans or are currently serving in the military, demonstrating great commitment to their education and our country.

On Friday at 9 a.m., six members of the men’s basketball team will receive degrees from the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters. They each played instrumental roles in the team’s historic run to the Final Four in 2023, while achieving the longest win streak and best record in the nation. The team made its second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament this year and played in the three most-watched games by an American Athletic Conference team. Over the past two years, the Owls earned a 60-13 record — the third most wins in Division I basketball.

We are incredibly proud of all our spring graduates. It is an honor to usher the members of this special class into their next chapter as Florida Atlantic alumni. We are excited to witness the positive impact they will have in their communities as we look forward to their continued success.

Congratulations, Class of 2024!
