Florida Atlantic Softball is Going Dancing!

This week, the Florida Atlantic softball team will play in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016. After finishing the regular season as the American Athletic Conference co-champions, the Owls received an at-large bid to the Gainesville Regional. The team will face South Alabama on Friday, May 17 at 2:30 p.m.

This has been an outstanding season for the team, which has a 41-14 overall record and went 21-6 in conference play — the program’s most wins since 2016. Florida Atlantic has been in the Top 40 in the RPI rankings for much of the season and was ranked in the Top 25 in the Softball America poll — its first ranking since 2016. 

Additionally, the Owls received a number of conference honors:

• Coaching Staff of the Year
• Rookie of the year: Kiley Channell
• 1^st Team All-Conference: Katelynn de Leon, Kamryn Jackson, Ainsley Lambert,  Presley Leebrick,  Trinity Schlotterbeck
• 2^nd Team All-Conference: Jesiana Mora  

The Gainesville Regional marks the softball program’s 12th NCAA appearance. Best of luck to the team, and Go Owls!
