Welcome, Trustees Feingold and Cane!
Friday, Feb 12, 2021FAU recently welcomed two new members to its Board of Trustees, the governing board overseeing the university’s policies, programs and performance. Barbara Feingold and Daniel Cane were appointed to the Board by Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Trustee Feingold is the senior vice president of Managed Care of North America Dental and a former member of the State Board of Education. She is a longtime supporter of FAU and a member of the Jewish Women’s Foundation and the B’nai Torah Synagogue Foundation. A former educator, she graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Montclair State College. She succeeds Dr. Jeffrey Feingold, who served on the Board since 2010.
Trustee Cane is CEO of Modernizing Medicine, a healthcare software company. Previously, he was co-founder and senior vice president of research and development of Blackboard. He is actively involved with the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, the United Way of Palm Beach County and the Boca Raton Innovation Campus. He earned his bachelor’s degree in applied economics from Cornell University. Dan previously served on FAU’s Board of Trustees from 2013 to 2018, and held the position of vice chair in 2015. He succeeds Robert Rubin, who served on the Board since 2010.
I truly appreciate the contributions of Dr. Jeffrey Feingold and Bob Rubin, who helped propel FAU into a new era of success as the top-performing state university in 2016 and recognition on U.S. News & World Report’s list of the best schools in the nation for the past two years. I look forward to working with Barbara and Dan to lead FAU to new heights, including becoming a Top 100 public university.
