Observing Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a national holiday dedicated to honoring the brave men and women in our armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard our rights and freedoms. In observance of this day, Florida Atlantic University will be closed on Monday, May 27, and no classes will be held.

Florida Atlantic also recognized our fallen heroes today during a Memorial Day event on the Boca Raton campus. It was hosted by the Military and Veteran Student Success Center, which led our students, faculty, staff and community members in a moment of silence.

As an institution that was founded on a military airbase, Florida Atlantic is proud to honor the courageous servicemembers who gave all to protect their country. I hope everyone takes a moment this weekend to appreciate their sacrifices and pay tribute our nation’s heroes.
