FAU men's basketball team receives C-USA honors

Today, Conference USA announced its postseason men’s basketball award winners and I am thrilled to share that Florida Atlantic received several high honors.

Throughout the 2022-23 campaign, the Owls pushed the bounds of athletic excellence by finishing 28-3 in the regular season and 18-2 in conference play, and winning the regular season C-USA title. The Owls also recorded the program's first Top 25 ranking ever, reaching No. 19 in the AP poll.

Head Coach Dusty May received the Conference USA Coach of the Year award for his great success in leading the team to record-breaking victories and becoming the No. 1 seed in the C-USA Championship Tournament. Johnell Davis received the Sixth Player of the Year award and was chosen for the All-Conference First Team. Alijah Martin also was chosen for the First Team and Vladislav Goldin was named to the Third Team.

We are very proud of the team’s outstanding accomplishments and look forward to watching them compete in the C-USA tournament, which kicks off tomorrow in Frisco, Texas. As the No. 1 seed, Florida Atlantic automatically qualified for the quarterfinals and will face WKU or UTEP on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
