Good Luck, Men’s Basketball!
Friday, Mar 22, 2024The Florida Atlantic men’s basketball team is back in the “Big Dance” — and back in New York for the NCAA Tournament! The Owls are the No. 8 seed in the East Region. The team’s first contest is today at 12:15 p.m. against No. 9 seed Northwestern at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. During last year’s tournament, the team visited the Big Apple and won their Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight games at Madison Square Garden.
Everyone is invited to join us today at several locations to cheer on the Owls:
- For fans in South Florida, we’ll have watch parties at Biergarten in Boca Raton, Duffy’s in Coconut Creek and Duffy’s in North Palm Beach. Click here for more information.
- Owls in New York are invited to a pre-game reception at Dave & Buster’s, right across the street from the Barclays Center, starting at 9 a.m. Additional details are available by clicking here.
- Students are invited to a watch party at the Student Union on the Boca Raton campus. Students can gather at the Live Oak Patio starting at 11:30 a.m. Doors to the Barry Kaye Auditorium will open at noon.
Fans everywhere can show their Owl Pride by purchasing the official 2024 NCAA Tournament Bound T-shirt and the 2024 “Dancing in Paradise” shirt. More Florida Atlantic merchandise is available at our Campus Store.
The men’s basketball team posted a 30-1 record at home over the last two seasons, tied with Drake for the most home wins in that time by any team nationally. The Owls have not lost a conference game at home since Feb. 19, 2022 — a streak that now spans more than two calendar years at 20 consecutive games. Additionally, the program announced a full-season sellout and finished the regular season as one of just 14 teams nationally to play before a sold-out home crowd every game.
I’ve truly enjoyed watching the team’s success all season long, and I look forward to cheering them on in the first round of the NCAA Tournament today. Good luck, and Go Owls!
