Happy Homecoming Week!

Happy homecoming week, Owls! Florida Atlantic is celebrating “Homecoming: Ride the Wave” now through Saturday, Oct. 21, with a series of special events on the Boca Raton, Broward and Jupiter campuses. Programs include a water slide party, cooler crafting event, music game show and more. I encourage all students, faculty and staff to enjoy the planned festivities and observe homecoming week with pride.

Another homecoming tradition taking place this week is the annual Talon Leadership Awards, which honors Florida Atlantic’s most dedicated students, faculty, alumni and supporters. The ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 18, will recognize those who have provided outstanding leadership and service to the University.

Additionally, on Friday, Oct. 20, we will induct the Class of 1973 into the Majestic Owls Society. Each year, the University celebrates alumni who have reached their 50-year milestone with a special ceremony to commemorate their golden anniversary. I look forward to honoring these exceptional Owls, who have set an inspiring example for their alma mater.

On Saturday, Oct. 21, we’ll close out homecoming week with a football game against UTSA at FAU Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear red for the occasion. A special Alumni Tailgate event will take place at the Marleen and Harold Forkas Alumni Center leading up to the game.
