Congratulations, FAU High Grads!
Friday, May 14, 2021Today we celebrated the graduation of the 17th class from FAU High School. FAU High is a public, dual enrollment high school on our Boca Raton campus and has been ranked among the best schools in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. It also is the only school in the state with a 100 percent graduation rate for five years straight.
We are very proud of all the Class of 2021 has accomplished during their years at FAU High. More than 50 members of this class were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for academic achievement and performance on the PSAT and SAT tests. FAU High had the most semi-finalists in the state with 34. Of those students, 25 have been named winners – which may increase as NMSC continues to award scholarships through July.
Additionally, the College Board National Recognition Programs recognized 12 FAU High students as National Hispanic Recognition Scholars, 12 as National African-American Recognition Scholars, and one as a National Indigenous American Recognition Scholar.
More than 70 percent of the Class of 2021 will continue their education at FAU and complete their bachelor’s degrees this summer or fall. Five members of the class already received bachelor’s degrees during the university’s spring commencement ceremonies … two weeks before receiving their high school diplomas!
Through their success at FAU High School and the University, these graduates have shown high ability, great self-discipline and maturity beyond their years, as well as tremendous resilience for adapting to – and succeeding – during these unprecedented times.
I wish our FAU High graduates the very best, and I look forward to hearing about their future successes.
Congratulations, Class of 2021!
