Welcome to Campus, Owls!

Tuesday, Aug 13, 2024

It’s an exciting week at Florida Atlantic, as we welcome new and returning Owls with several University traditions. On the Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses, first-year students are moving into their residence halls today through Aug. 15, and transfer and returning students will move in from Aug. 15 to 17.

On Friday, Aug. 16, we look forward to officially greeting our first-year students during Florida Atlantic’s annual Freshman Convocation. This important rite of passage marks the beginning of a student’s college career and their entrance into the Owl community. Along with the 2024 Distinguished Teacher of the Year, University leadership and our esteemed faculty members, I look forward to welcoming about 4,200 incoming students during this meaningful event.

Another tradition on the Boca Raton, Jupiter and Broward campuses is Red and Blue Weeks, a series of special events taking place from Aug. 17 to Sept. 3. These activities are a great way for Owls to connect with peers, get to know our campuses and prepare to achieve success. I encourage all students to participate in these memorable and beneficial events.

As a reminder, students who need help navigating campus in the coming weeks can look for FAU employees wearing red “Need Help? Just Ask” lanyards, and they will be happy to assist.

Welcome to Florida Atlantic!
