Congratulations, Fall Graduates!
Friday, Dec 15, 2023This week, more than 2,700 students received degrees from Florida Atlantic during five commencement ceremonies on the Boca Raton campus. They are now part of our alumni community that has grown to more than 204,000 graduates since 1965.
Among the fall graduates, about one-third were first-generation students, becoming the first in their families to receive a college degree. Additionally, ages ranged from 17 to 73 years old and 65 countries were represented.
I had the pleasure of awarding President’s Distinguished Service Medallions to two worthy recipients. The Honorable MaryLynn Magar received the award for her longstanding support of Florida Atlantic, including her efforts to create a life science hub on the Jupiter campus. Former NBC reporter Kerry Sanders was honored for his remarkable broadcast coverage of Florida Atlantic over the years, which generated more than $400 million worth of media coverage on a global scale.
We are delighted to celebrate our fall graduates, and I am confident in their continued success as alumni. Wherever their paths may lead, Florida Atlantic will be proud to support their endeavors.
Congratulations, Class of 2023!
