Recognizing FAU’s Distinguished Nursing Leaders

Thursday, Aug 04, 2022

I am proud to share that the American Academy of Nursing (AAN) has selected two members of the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing to be inducted into its 2022 Class of Fellows. Congratulations to Dean Safiya George, R.N., Ph.D.; and Howard Karl Butcher, R.N., Ph.D., professor and director of the Ph.D. in nursing program, for this esteemed achievement. Drs. George and Butcher join 12 other Lynn College of Nursing faculty members as AAN fellows.

Additionally, I’d like to congratulate nursing professor Kathryn Keller, R.N., Ph.D., who was selected for induction into the Academy of Nursing Education by the National League for Nursing. The 20 inductees were selected for their outstanding contributions toward advancing public health and are affiliated with top-ranked teaching hospitals, academic institutions, and other health-related organizations.

Induction into these prestigious associations commemorates the most significant milestones in the nursing profession and academia, celebrating excellence in work that addresses health equity through innovation, practice, research, teaching and community outreach. This high recognition for FAU’s 2022 honorees highlights the Lynn College of Nursing’s ongoing tradition of preeminent and transformative patient care practices. We are thrilled to have such talented educators leading our future nurses toward success in their field.
