Celebrating Our 2020 Graduates

This week, Florida Atlantic University hosted five special in-person commencement ceremonies to honor our 2020 graduates, who had to graduate virtually last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 7,770 students were invited back to campus take part in the makeup ceremonies, and more than 1,240 graduates attended. Our Class of 2020 graduates ranged in age from 17 to 77, and more than one-third of our graduates were the first in their families to earn a college degree.

The COVID-19 pandemic challenged us all in many ways and we missed out on a lot, but I didn’t want these graduates to miss out on this special occasion. I know how hard they worked, and it’s important that they know that at FAU, their degrees and accomplishments matter. Congratulations again to the Class of 2020!
