At FAU, we take great pride in the fact that students from more than 180 countries have attended our university. The opportunity to learn and share experiences with people from a wide array of cultures and backgrounds helps create a culture of understanding and acceptance.

Such diversity also creates opportunities for our students to visit countries around the world thanks to the long-lasting friendships this environment nurtures.

The university is aware of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security decision to modify the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) guidance regarding international student enrollment in online courses.

We will work with each individual student to create course schedules that meet federal requirements and SEVP guidance for remaining compliant with F-1 visa regulations and for making progress towards completing their degree programs.

FAU is currently home to almost 900 international students from 103 countries. We remain committed to global engagement, and we value the global diversity that international students bring to the academic experience.

The Center for Global Engagement and International Student Services will reach out directly to students over the next few days with additional guidance.
