Celebrating Black History Month

Today marks the beginning of National Black History Month, an annual recognition and celebration of the history and contributions of African American/Black Diaspora communities in our country. The theme for 2023, chosen each year by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, is Black Resistance.

Florida Atlantic University will celebrate throughout the month of February with a series of Black History Month events on the Boca Raton, Jupiter and Broward campuses. Programs include art exhibits, lectures, a Black History Month Showcase and more. I encourage all members of our FAU community to observe and participate as we honor our Black communities.
