Engage with Brain Research During FAU Brainy Days
Monday, Mar 04, 2024Florida Atlantic’s Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute begins its annual Brainy Days celebration this week, kicking off a series of engaging neuroscience events throughout the month of March. Since 2018, Brainy Days programming has played an essential role in educating the community about the tremendous benefits of brain research and reducing the stigma associated with brain disorders.
Neuroscience is one of Florida Atlantic’s key research priorities, and Brainy Days reflects this commitment by sharing valuable knowledge about maintaining brain health and lowering the risks for brain diseases. The FAU Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute and its world-renowned scientists are dedicated to pursuing research and developing cutting-edge technologies that will provide hope to millions of people affected by disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
Signature Brainy Days events include “BrainSparks!,” a hands-on event for children at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium; “INSIGHTS at the Institute,” an art installation presented by the Ryan Licht Sang Bipolar Foundation; and a keynote presentation by Richard J. Davidson, Ph.D., a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, whose groundbreaking research on emotion and the brain earned him a spot on Time magazine’s list of “The 100 Most Influential People in the World” in 2006.
Events are scheduled from Thursday, March 7, through Friday, March 29. I encourage everyone to engage with our Brainy Days lineup and take an active role in learning about brain health. For the full schedule of events, visit www.fau.edu/ibrain/brainydays.
