Sandy Owls Win C-USA Championship!

Congratulations to Florida Atlantic’s beach volleyball team on winning the Conference USA Championship! The No. 15-ranked “Sandy Owls” defeated No. 12-ranked FIU 3-0 to earn their second consecutive conference title.

Julie Honzovicova and Jillienne Cloud were named the C-USA Pair of the Championship. Marketa Svozilova and Courtney Moon, and Christine Jarman and Ellie Austin joined them on the All-Tournament Pairs team.Christine Jarman also was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team.

With the win, the Sandy Owls earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in program history. The tournament will take place May 5-7 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. As the No. 12 seed, Florida Atlantic will face No. 5 seed LSU on May 5 at 1 p.m. ET. 

We are so incredibly proud of the team’s success, which has been ranked in the Top 20 nationally every year since 2017. Congratulations again to the players and Head Coach Steve Grotowski, and good luck in the NCAA Tournament! Go Sandy Owls!
