FAU Cheer Team Wins National Championship!

Congratulations to Florida Atlantic’s cheer team, which won the national championship for Intermediate Small Coed Division I-A at the National Cheerleading Association’s (NCA) national championship on Friday. The NCA College Nationals is the premier annual cheer competition for colleges and universities across the country.

Around 70 members of the cheer team represented Florida Atlantic at the NCA championship in Daytona Beach. Our large coed team placed fifth and the all-girls team placed 12th.

These talented student-athletes work hard year-round to keep fans engaged at football and basketball games and other university events. I’m so grateful for their energy and enthusiasm, and so proud that their excellence was rewarded at the NCA national competition.
