Congratulations, Owl Doctors!

Today, we celebrated the graduation of the eighth class of physicians from the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. The 64 graduates began their journey in 2018, when up against an amazing set of odds, they were selected from a competitive pool of nearly 3,600 applicants.

In March, the class participated in a national Match Day event, in which 100% were matched for residency programs. The fact that our graduates earned residencies with several top institutions across the country speaks volumes about their talent and commitment to their calling.

During the course of their studies at FAU, two graduates got married, another three engaged, and one became a parent. At today’s ceremony, 13 graduates were hooded by siblings, parents and grandparents – who also are physicians. It truly is wonderful to see how much love, support and encouragement our Owl doctors have received today, and throughout their journey.

Physicians have never been in higher demand, and as each of our graduates enters their specialized fields, I know that everyone here at FAU will be cheering them on with pride.
