Thank You, Bartley J. Madden Foundation!

I am delighted to share that FAU received a generous $3 million donation from the Bartley J. Madden Foundation to establish the Madden Center for Value Creation in the College of Business. The Madden Center will be a world-class center for research, teaching and outreach that will equip FAU’s future business leaders with the experiences and tools needed for long-term success in a modern world.

An independent researcher, author and expert in the field of investment research and money management, Mr. Madden recognizes value creation as a core principle for success in business. In fall 2021, we were fortunate to hear from him about the importance of value creation during his keynote speech at the College of Business graduate degree commencement ceremony. With a full-fledged center dedicated to furthering this understanding, FAU’s future leaders will be able to overcome complacency in industry through questioning core assumptions, fostering experimentation and embracing innovation.

Special thanks to Siri Terjesen, Ph.D., associate dean of research and external relations in the College of Business, for working with Mr. Madden to create the defining vision for the center, and for spearheading the initiative by serving as its executive director.

Ultimately, value creation seeks to create win-win relationships and outcomes, just like we are striving to do here at Florida Atlantic University. I look forward to opening the Madden Center for Value Creation and watching our students create genuine value that will make our world a better place.
