FAU Wins APLU Degree Completion Award
Sunday, Nov 06, 2022
Today, Florida Atlantic University received the prestigious Degree Completion Award from the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) at its annual meeting. This is the second consecutive year that FAU was named a finalist for this award.
When I became president of Florida Atlantic, improving our four-year graduation rate was one of my top priorities. With a little over a month left of my presidency, I am proud to share that we have
more than doubled our graduation rate since 2014 — while maintaining equitable outcomes for students regardless of race, income or first-generation status. This is largely due to our team-based analytics strategy, which employs policy changes, curricular revisions and financial assistance to help more students progress through their degree programs and graduate on time.
It truly is an honor to receive the APLU Degree Completion Award, and I proudly share it with Florida Atlantic’s outstanding faculty and staff, who work tirelessly to ensure that our students receive the support they need to succeed. Together, we are changing the lives of our students and delivering on the promise of opportunity for all.
