Join Me for the Schnellenberger Celebration and First Home Football Game

This Saturday, Sept. 11, FAU Football will play its first home game of the season against Georgia Southern at 3:30 p.m. This promises to be an exciting season, as the team was undefeated (4-0) at home last year and has won eight straight games on Howard Schnellenberger Field. 

Speaking of Howard Schnellenberger, the life of the legendary coach and founder of FAU’s football program will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at FAU Stadium. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature numerous high-profile former players and coaches whose lives were impacted by Coach Schnellenberger.

I hope you will join me at FAU Stadium to cheer the team on to victory. Our players are working hard to stay healthy so we can enjoy football this fall, and I know they would appreciate your energy in the stands on game day. While you’re on campus, we ask you to help “Protect Your Owl Family.” This includes wearing a face covering, keeping your hands clean, and of course, staying home if you feel unwell.
