FAU to Host Events for LGBT History Month

Florida Atlantic University will celebrate LGBT History Month with events throughout the month of October at its Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses. All events are open to FAU students, faculty and staff.

The following events will take place on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road:


Annual Drag Show

Saturday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m.

Carole and Barry Kaye Auditorium, Student Union

Come learn about the history of drag and its significance in our community. The event will feature several of the most popular drag queens in South Florida.

Same-Sex Dating Violence Information Session

Thursday, Oct. 26 at 3:30 p.m.

Women’s Gender & Equity Resource Center

The last week of October is Dating Violence Week. Join us as we address the misconceptions and impacts surrounding same-sex dating violence.


Pride Fest

Friday, Oct. 27 at 10 a.m.

SO Rotunda

This festival celebrates the LGBTQ+ community by promoting inclusivity and visibility in all facets of the queer community.


Rocky Horror Halloween

Monday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m.

ODMA Office, Student Union

Join us as we explore the themes of sex, gender and sexuality in the cult film, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Costumes are encouraged and refreshments will be served.

Movie Night: ‘Moonlight’

Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.

“Moonlight” is a chronicle of the childhood, adolescence and burgeoning adulthood of a young, African-American, gay man growing up in a rough neighborhood of Miami.
