Hearing screenings provide a quick way to detect hearing loss. Those who pass the screening are presumed to have no hearing loss, while those who do not pass will need a more in-depth evaluation by an audiologist.
It’s estimated that about 20 percent of Americans report some degree of hearing loss. It’s the third most common physical public health condition following arthritis and heart disease.
For more information about the screenings, contact Ali Danesh, Ph.D., at 561-297-2071 or tinnitus@fau.edu.
