FAU to Offer 2023 Summer Camps

Florida Atlantic University’s School of Criminology and Criminal Justice; FAU SeaTech; Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters; and the Department of Athletics will host summer camps beginning in June.

The following summer camp sessions will be offered:

  • FAU’s School of Public Administration and the Leroy Collins Public Ethics Academy are sponsoring, in part, the Leadership and Ethics Achievement Program (LEAP). It is a weeklong summer camp adventure that emphasizes leadership and ethics for the next generation from Monday, June 5 through Friday, June 9 at FAU’s Boca Raton campus.   • Criminal Justice Summer Camp will be offered for high school students who want to become future justice-seekers. The camp is filled with one-of-a-kind experiences and up-close opportunities to see the criminal justice system in action and is open to students entering ninth through 12th grade. The two sessions will take place Sunday, June 11 through Friday, June 16; and Sunday, July 9 through Friday, July 14. The cost is $800.   • High school students from the tri-county area are invited to apply for a four-day Ocean Engineering Camp at FAU SeaTech in Dania Beach. The camp will take place from Monday, June 12 through Thursday, June 15, and is free thanks to a National Science Foundation grant.   • Sci‐fi Collab Lab, a writing‐intensive summer program for high school students, will take place Monday, June 12 through Friday, June 16. Attendees at this weeklong writing camp will receive intensive instruction in creative writing with a focus on science fiction and fantasy, working together to create a collaborative writing project. The cost is $300, or $250 for children of FAU staff, faculty and alumni. For more information, email mfa@fau.edu.
