FAU Foundation Board Elects Patricia McKay as Chair
The Florida Atlantic University Foundation Board recently held its annual meeting and election of officers.
Patricia McKay ’78 was elected as the Board’s new chair, taking over for Bruce Allen ’71, who served as chair since 2013.

Patricia McKay ’78 was elected as the Board’s new chair, taking over for Bruce Allen ’71, who served as chair since 2013. Former treasurer Brett Greenberg was elected vice chair and Chris Fluehr continues his service as secretary. Stewart Martin ’89 joins the executive committee as treasurer.
McKay joined the FAU Foundation Board in 200 9 and previously served as secretary, treasurer and vice chair. She is a partner at Templeton & Company, a South Florida-based accounting and management advisory firm. McKay formerly w as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Office Depot, Inc., where she also served on its board of directors. She was inducted into the FAU Alumni Hall of Fame in 2006 and was named an Influential Business Woman and as a Key Partner by The South Florida Business Journal .
“ We have a great year ahead of us with President Kelly’s leadership of FAU coupled with the dynamic energy of a great foundation board of directors, full of business lead ers that share his passion and ‘ unbridled ambition ’ for our fine university ,” said McKay. “ As an FAU a lumna, I’m very proud to serve as c hair of the FAU Foundation Board of Directors. ”
The B oard also welcome d three new members, noted for their civic service and professional accomplishments.
Michael Kaufman is founder, president and CEO of Kaufman Lynn Construction, one of the largest construction companies in South Florida. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, and is a me mber of the Tocqueville Society and the Board of Business. Kaufman previously served on the Dean’s Advisory Board for FAU’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine and as chair of the FAU Foundation Board from 2009-11 .
Brian M. Poulin is a principal of Evergreen Partners, LLC, Preservation Management, Inc., an affiliated property management company, and Evergreen Communities, LLC, a real estate development company focused on new construction of affordable housing. He has a background in tax law and has been a developer and owner of rental real estate for more than 20 years. Poulin serves on the boards of the Institute for Responsible Housing Preservation and the National Leased Housing Association.
John V. Zells is the executive vice president/ chief marketing officer of IBM Southeast Employees’ Federal Credit Union. He leads IBM SECU’s merger and acquisition and congressional advocacy initiatives. Zells is the author of “Outrunning the Competition ” ( Credit Union Executives Socie ty, 2000) and a featured speaker and guest lecturer at national conferences and universities. He serves on the boards of TrustBridge , Inc. and Affiliates and the University of Massachusetts Isenberg Business School.
