Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business recently teamed up with Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management to host the Executive MBA Council’s USA/Southeast regional meeting at the Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables, Fla.

The academic association that represents the Executive MBA (EMBA) industry, the Executive MBA Council (EMBAC) advances the cause of EMBA programs by serving as a facilitator of best practice sharing and knowledge dissemination and fostering a community among high-quality programs.

Designed for busy working professionals, FAU’s 23-month Executive MBA Program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The program was recently ranked among the best in the world by Bloomberg BusinessWeek and No. 1 in Florida and No. 5 in the United States in terms of a student’s return on investment, with one of the nation’s highest salary-to-debt ratios after getting an MBA.

Kellogg’s Executive MBA Program supports the professional goals of senior and mid-career executives who are looking to advance their careers and build a global mindset. With two U.S. campuses and five international partnerships, Kellogg has the largest, most prestigious Executive MBA network in the world.

Daniel Gropper, Ph.D., dean of FAU’s College of Business, spoke at a general session for the meeting.

“EMBAC is the leading professional association of graduate business educators,” said Ken Johnson, Ph.D., associate dean of Graduate Programs at FAU’s College of Business. “Their work is instrumental to its members being able to efficiently deliver high-quality business graduate education.”

Vegar Wiik, director of executive education at FAU’s College of Business, said business graduate education is evolving from optional to essential in today’s marketplace. Kellogg School of Management and FAU College of Business recognize this demand and work to develop graduate programs that are content rich, rigorously delivered and tailored to working professionals, he said. Co-hosting EMBAC’s regional meeting is a reflection of FAU’s dedication to remain on the cutting edge.

“Business graduate education is a by-product of the fast paced evolution of today’s business world,” Wiik said. “The need for constant improvement and re-education is always there. We recognize this need and provide programs that challenge already successful working professionals to get to the next level.”
