Robert W. Stackman, Jr., Ph.D
., the new associate vice president for academic affairs for
FAU's John D. MacArthur Campus
.
In this position, Stackman will be responsible for the management of all academic operations FAU Jupiter. In addition to his strategic oversight of degree planning and enrollment growth, he will also lead the rapidly-developing research enterprise in coordination with
FAU’s Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute
,
Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience
and
UF Scripps Biomedical Research
.
Stackman will concurrently serve as the dean of FAU's
Graduate College
, which
provides current graduate students with support through professional development initiatives and advice regarding policies related to thesis and dissertation preparation and submission. Stackman has a background as an accomplished neuroscientist with a research lab in Jupiter that investigates the role of brain circuits and cellular mechanisms in the development of long-term memory.
