As Dean of the Graduate College at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), it’s my pleasure to welcome you to our website. This site is a valuable resource for graduate students (current and prospective), graduate faculty members, university staff, or anyone from the community interested in learning more about the exceptional advanced degree programs here at Florida Atlantic. Here you will find information regarding applying to our graduate degree and certificate programs in a broad range of disciplines.
Graduate students are fundamental to the success of Florida Atlantic. Over 5,000 graduate students are enrolled in approximately 130 graduate programs (doctoral, specialist, master’s, and certificate). Many of our programs are recognized for their excellence in Florida and beyond. Many of our programs provide the opportunity for students to work alongside world-class faculty on leading-edge research projects and scholarship that have important implications for society and improving the future.
Florida Atlantic has set a strategic goal to achieve Carnegie R1 (Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity). Graduate students are key drivers of the research enterprise, and will be essential to attaining this goal. The Graduate College team is committed to assisting Florida Atlantic in achieving R1 status through enhanced recruitment efforts, and by providing all current students with the support they need to succeed. We recognize that there is more work to be done to build a diverse community of graduate students, and we look forward to working with units across the university to enhance efforts and expand support to meet university goals.
The Graduate College serves all currently admitted students from initial enrollment through to graduation. To ensure that our graduate programs are of the highest quality, the Graduate College works collaboratively with all departments, colleges and faculty as a whole. All our efforts are focused on the goal of supporting student success.
