FAU's Stephen Kerr Named Louisville Slugger All-American
Florida Atlantic University second baseman Stephen Kerr has been named to the 2014 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American team as selected by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.
Kerr, a native of Margate, is one of six second basemen from across the country to receive the honor. He was named Second-Team All-Conference and was a member of the All-Freshman team for Conference USA for his outstanding play for the Owls.
He hit an impressive .324 with a team-high 38 runs and 10 stolen bases. He drew 21 walks while striking out just 16 times in 207 at-bats. Kerr's 24 extra-base hits led the team, as did his six games with three hits. His 17-game reached-base streak was the longest of any Owl over the season. Kerr started every game at either shortstop or second base.
