FAU Online Faculty Award
In accordance with Tactic 1.1.1: Create a statewide award system for exceptional online teaching, in the 2025 Strategic Plan for Online Education, the State University System has established an award program for exemplary online teaching.
FAU will select one faculty member from all nominees, who will receive the FAU Online Faculty Award Badge and a $2500 stipend.
FAU Online Faculty Award General Application Process
Review the FAU Online Faculty Awards requirements for submission listed below. Please note that this award is open to full time faculty only.
- Submit your application for FAU Online Faculty Award by completing the Online Faculty Awards Form by October 15, 2024. (This is just an application form. Nothing needs to be submitted at this time).
- Once we receive your application, you will:
- Receive access to the Nominees Page for more specific information on submitting the requirements for consideration for this award.
- Receive access to a Canvas course on November 15, where you will submit these requirements by January 5, 2025, (late submissions will not be accepted)
- The Review Committee will make their selection.
- The winner will be announced.
Requirements for consideration for the award, due January 5, 2025
- Artifacts demonstrating your exemplary online instructional delivery practice. (Submit your application to receive details about these artifacts)
- Teaching practices, rather than course design, should be highlighted
- Narrative describing your trajectory towards exemplary online teaching practice. (Submit your application to receive details about the narrative)
- Short CV
- Letter of support from Dean/Chair
- Additional letter of support from a Dean, Chair or colleague
These requirements will be submitted via Canvas assignments beginning November 15, 2024 and will be due January 5, 2025.
Prerequisite for submission
The prerequisite for submission is a course(s), which has/have been reviewed by a Quality Matters reviewer and successfully met the Florida High Quality Standards as defined by the Florida Online Course Design Quality Designations.
