Ripples Of Progress water and asd

Now that it’s Summertime in Florida, it is especially important to make sure your child has these pre-requisite water safety skills:

Around any body of water, It is critical that your child will reliably:

  1. Hold your hand when directed,
  2. Respond to their name when called, and
  3. Follow directions like "stop" and "wait".

FIRST start by practicing these skills regularly inside your house, then expand to outside your house in an enclosed space such as a fenced in yard, and then to the grocery store and/or playground BEFORE allowing your child access to areas where they would encounter water or participate in swim-related activities.
