Earlier this week, we shared the exciting news that FAU and Max Planck will launch the FAU Max Planck Academy for high school students. We also announced the MaryLynn Magar Fellowship, which will be available to students in the FAU Max Planck Data Science enrichment program. This program gives high-performing juniors and seniors from FAU High in Boca Raton the opportunity to commute to the Jupiter campus to work with Max Planck faculty in their labs. Magar Fellows will receive $3,000 to support their research efforts.
The fellows are named in honor of Rep. MaryLynn Magar, who has worked tirelessly to help create a thriving scientific hub at our Jupiter campus. She successfully fought for, and ignited, numerous initiatives that allowed FAU and Max Planck to grow together as partners.
We will support the Magar Fellowships each year – not only as the beta program for the FAU Max Planck Academy – but as a strong reminder of MaryLynn’s unwavering determination and effort to bring our two institutions together. Thank you, MaryLynn, for your longstanding support!
