Today is an exciting day for FAU! This afternoon I had the privilege of announcing another major gift from one of the university’s most dedicated supporters, Christine E. Lynn. A visionary philanthropist whose generosity has touched the lives of countless thousands of people, Mrs. Lynn is donating $5 million to create the Christine E. Lynn Sports Medicine Center within the Schmidt Family Complex for Academic and Athletic Excellence.
The Center will be a state-of-the-art facility that will bring the best in preventative and restorative care to our student-athletes. It will include specially designed areas for pre-habilitation, rehabilitation, hydrotherapy and the prompt treatment of injuries. The Christine E. Lynn Sports Medicine Center will play a huge role in making FAU’s athletics program the most proactive in the nation in terms of protecting the health and well-being of student-athletes.
Mrs. Lynn is devoting her life to bettering the lives of others in our community through her immensely generous support of healthcare education and the delivery of healthcare services. Our College of Nursing is proud to bear her name, which will now also be forever inscribed on the Schmidt Family Complex for Academic and Athletic Excellence. Thank you, Christine Lynn!
