My thoughts are with everyone who was affected by the synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh on Saturday. FAU values its relationships with our many Jewish students, faculty, staff, neighbors, and friends around the world, and our sympathies are with the entire Jewish community during this sad time.
Diversity and inclusion are deeply embedded in this institution’s roots, and I am incredibly proud that FAU is one of the most culturally diverse universities in the country. FAU will continue to foster a safe and inclusive environment for students, faculty and staff regardless of race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, gender or sexual orientation.
We’re proud to have an active Jewish student population here at FAU. Our campus Hillel offers programs that benefit students, help them experience Jewish life, and make new friends who share their faith. These students contribute much to the life of the university and our community, through their campus involvement and civic service.
FAU’s Counseling and Psychological Services Center is available to students who may be affected by this horrible incident. Click here for more information. For employees, information about FAU’s Employee Assistance Program is available at http://www.fau.edu/hr/benefits/providers.php.
