Florida Atlantic University is honored to host Dr. Yitshak Kreiss, Israel’s former Surgeon General, for more than a week of lectures and presentations to our students and greater campus community. A world-renowned expert in military medicine, disaster management and health administration, Dr. Kreiss will make a series of presentations on FAU’s Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses this week and next week. Several of them will be open to the public. Brought to the university by the College of Business and the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Dr. Kreiss will be the featured speaker at several events sponsored by those colleges. For a list of his appearances at FAU, click here.
Dr. Kreiss has led medical teams responding to catastrophic events all over the world, including the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, the 2013 typhoon in the Philippines and the civil war in Syria. He has received many awards for his humanitarian work. I am proud to announce that he has accepted an appointment as a clinical affiliate professor in our College of Medicine. We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with this extraordinary physician and humanitarian who will share his wisdom, expertise and compassion with our faculty and students. I hope as many of you as possible are able to hear him speak.
