Every year FAU’s faculty and staff get the opportunity to help people in need in our area by answering the call to contribute to the United Way. This year’s campaign got under way on Oct. 17 and will run through Oct. 31.
The University community has been supporting the United Way for many years, and most of us are aware of the indispensable human services that this fine organization provides. People in a wide variety of distressed situations can get help from United Way agencies, whether they need to find affordable daycare, are coping with disability or illness, or rebuilding their lives in the aftermath of misfortunes. Year in and year out, the United Way is there for people in these situations and so many others, providing them with assistance and giving them hope for a better tomorrow.
Becoming a donor, or continuing your annual donation, is easy. Just go to the “United Way” tab on the MyFAU homepage and follow the instructions. You can make a one-time donation or stretch your contribution over the coming year with payroll deductions. You can direct your gift to any United Way in our area, from Broward to St. Lucie counties, or you can specify a particular non-profit organization that you want to help, whether it is a member of the United Way or not.
There truly is no better way to leverage the power of your philanthropy than by giving your support to the United Way in whatever amount and by whatever means suits your personal situation. Thank you for considering this request. Together we can make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors in need.
