Two weeks ago, FAU announced that out-of-state tuition fees will be waived for Puerto Rican students whose families were adversely affected by Hurricane Maria. We are extending that assistance to students from the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as displaced university students from Puerto Rico and the U.S.V.I. who are interested in transferring to FAU.
Students from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are now able to enroll in undergraduate courses at FAU and pay in-state tuition and fees during the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters. FAU also will waive the application fee and tuition deposit for undergraduate students transferring from post-secondary institutions in Puerto Rico and the U.S.V.I.
Additionally, the Graduate College will allow displaced students from Puerto Rico and the U.S.V.I. to pay in-state tuition and fees during the Spring 2018 semester. The College also is waiving the application fee for graduates of institutions in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands seeking admission to a graduate degree program starting Spring 2018.
Puerto Rico and the U.S.V.I. are facing a long road to recovery, but we’re hoping these tuition waiver programs will provide some relief to families with college students. For more information, please click here.
