Saturday, Sept. 15, kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month, the annual nationwide celebration of Hispanic and Latinx traditions, history and culture. Hispanic Heritage Month runs through October 15.
For the second year in a row, FAU is listed as one the most ethnically diverse universities in the country by U.S. News and World Report. Hispanic students make up more than 25 percent of FAU’s student body – our largest minority population. We are very proud that FAU has been designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution by the U.S. Department of Education, which is helping the university better serve this growing population of students.
FAU will host a variety of Hispanic Heritage Month events on our Boca Raton, Jupiter and Broward campuses over the next month, including prominent speakers, group discussions, free food, craft and game lessons, and more. All events are free and open to the public.

I hope everyone will be able join the festivities and celebrate the many ways that Hispanic and Latin American traditions and culture have enriched our society.
