This is an exciting week, as we prepare for the start of the fall semester, and our new and returning Owls move into their on-campus homes. Honors College freshmen settled in to the Jupiter campus residence halls on Tuesday, and Thursday is freshman move-in day on the Boca Raton campus. Upperclassmen will join us on both campuses on Friday.
I’m happy to be among the many faculty and staff who will welcome our new Owls on Thursday and help with the move-in process. I also look forward to formally welcoming our first-year students at Freshman Convocation on Sunday, August 20 at 1 p.m. This special rite of passage marks the beginning of a student’s college career. In addition to Freshman Convocation, I encourage all students to take part in the “Weeks of Welcome” events scheduled on all campuses. Events include the Student Organizational Fair immediately following Freshman Convocation and our 13th annual Day of Service on August 26.
